Accessible doors should be designed in such way as to permit operation
by one person in a single motion. Low windows allow users to see oncoming traffic. All door furniture such as handles should be mounted at a lower level which helps wheelchair users to open and close the door easily. Sliding doors are preferred for persons with disabilities.
Sliding doors do not close automatically behind the user. The user can open it with ease, taking their time. Hence, safety is ensured. Sliding doors also save space.
